I finally got to go on Gwazi at Busch Tampa (as well as most of the other coasters in the Orlando area) this last weekend.
In spite of many tepid reviews, I was quite impressed. Only Gwazi Tiger was open and even though it had some minor tracking problems, I found it a very well-paced and fun ride.
While Mike Boodley and GCI tend to play it safe in the airtime department, they often make it up with great twists, head fakes, and intense turns.
Has anyone else had as good a ride on Gwazi or am I the only one?

Re: Gwazi!
Tue, March 2, 2004 - 7:13 PMI was on both Gwazi tiger and the lion about 5 years ago when I was in Fla for March Break...in fact was on all the coasters in Busch Gardens that day....
I enjoyed both sides of the coaster, each is slightly different from the other, but if I remember correctly, I enjoyed the tiger better than the lion....
(Tho, truth be told, I liked the inverted coaster, forget the name of it...sorry, better than either of the two 'woodies').

Re: Gwazi!
Sun, March 7, 2004 - 9:35 PMGwazi is a great double-coaster, and I seem to recall that we enjoyed tiger better than lion, though lion delivers a more fast-paced ride.

it's been awhile since we've been down there to ride both of them and wooden coasters are like a fine wine, they age well. Perhaps something has changed since our visit back in '99?
